With the holidays rapidly approaching, I thought it would be the perfect time to give you some pointers for a “green” Christmas tree. Of course the two definitive green trees are a live tree with the bulb intact to plant in your yard when the holiday season closes, the other is an artificial tree that you can use year after year and then recycle when you’re finished with it. These days, the artificial trees are so lifelike that you sometimes have to touch and smell them to tell the difference.
If you choose to go live and not plant afterwards, there are recycling stations that will take your tree and turn them into mulch. You can also cut it up for a small outside fire to warm your buns! The good thing about Christmas trees is that they are planted every year to handle the volume of trees that are sold. So…this renewable resource is replaced year after year.
Another great idea is to take reclaimed wood and make it into your own tree that will last for years to come.
No matter which way you go with your Christmas tree, remember that the season is about being thankful, celebrating family and friends, giving back, making someone’s holiday cheerful when it otherwise might not be…but most of all…remember to keep the celebration in your heart all year! Life is truly about the right balance. 100% praise and thanksgiving every day!
