Life Isn’t Simple, but It Doesn’t Have to Be Hard

Life is definitely challenging in day to day dealings. We have children and pets to care for and a spouse to make sure they’re awake, getting ready, and so on. It’s sometimes chaotic and you can’t imagine how you get yourself fed, ready for work and all the way dressed! Sometimes you have to check to be sure you put your pants on some days!

You rush out the door and you’re in your car, turn on the music, and in the moments you have to yourself you try to enjoy the music and maybe sing along. Maybe you listen to devotionals, and some people prefer the sound of silence. But, however you choose to spend your driving time it’s the time you have to yourself and you can reflect on life. It’s not really hard per say; it’s just busy.

You step into your workplace and greet your fellow sidekicks, settle into your seat and rev up your computer. You possibly have to pick up from where you left off, or you check the emails first thing. To most people, that is the very first thing on the list of many things to do. There seems to be more “in order” with your planner and you are in more control at work than your home life. That’s because you have a schedule, a plan, a series of events that must happen in order to move in the right direction to finalize projects.

Life at home is different, because you don’t control everything happening there. Sure you plan a meal, but life happens, and someone could have played too hard and got hurt. The food got burnt, because you forgot while answering a call. The laundry didn’t get dried the night before, because no one put it in the dryer. The dog or cat threw up. A child gets the flu….and so many other scenarios that could possibly happen.

Sure, things happen at work as well, but really it’s not as tragic, or doesn’t seem as tragic there, because you have things “handled.” At home it can be kind of out of our hands. The one thing we have to realize that we have to keep a sense of humor. We can’t cry over spilled milk, because it already happened. We have to be strong and take moments at a time. We have to be kind, thoughtful, try to relax and realize that life is life. It doesn’t have to be hard if you put your mind at ease that it is just busy, and this too shall pass.
