This Monday, May 25th we will pay tribute to the men and women of the United States who have lost their lives in battle to sustain our freedom.
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in service of the United States of America. Taking our freedom for granted is a dangerous thing to do. Those who have fought or are fighting are worth a portion of our time to stop and take a moment to give thanks for the blessings that are our troops, and for us to realize how easily freedom can slip away. We all know that this holiday is a time of gathering with our families, but Memorial Day should also be a time of somber remembrance that someone paid the ultimate price for you and for me. They left familiar soil to tread the ground in foreign lands, some never to return to that which is familiar leaving behind family, friends, dreams and beliefs and an emptiness that once they occupied.
So this memorial, enjoy the family that is around you and give thanks and honor to those who will not be with family and who are still valiantly fighting for our right to be FREE!
