How hard is it to set a goal? Not hard at all! As a matter of fact that’s the easiest part of goal setting for ourselves. We have a want or a need, and we know what it takes to achieve it, or at least somewhat, and we set our target on achieving what we set out for. But, do we always complete it?
Starting out isn’t too difficult if we’re serious about a goal, because we really want it at the very beginning and vow we won’t stop until we reach it. Some of us map out our strategies and timelines to see what we approximate the length may be and what each milestone is that will draw us closer to the finish line. Still seems simple, right?
What we don’t expect that in the middle of the beginning and end may feel like a stagnate point. We’ve come so far, and yet have far to go too. It’s at this point that we can become lazy, and stop. We can make every excuse to jump off the ride, but if we hang on tight until the end we have so much to be proud of. So possibly finding ways to rejuvenate your passion is the way to stay on course.
Consider reading, watching videos, and talking to other like-minded and goal-minded people. These ideas can be a great support in reminding us why we began this journey. Also, when starting out it’s important to not beat yourself up on unrealistic expectations. Allow yourself the time needed to reach the goal, and if there are setbacks, just get right back up and push forward again, but don’t quit. No one said it wouldn’t be hard, but it’s definitely worth every step that is taken to finally reach the victory line!
