Being Your Best Self in a Team Environment

Teams are formed in one way or another, such as sports, work, volunteering, rescue and so on. When you are in a team environment it’s not always easy when another team member isn’t pulling their weight. It takes the effort of each individual to drive, thrive and survive to be a successful team.

Start by asking what more you can do if you don’t already know. Be an example to the rest without showing them up. People don’t like being out-done, but will be encouraged when lifted up to feel good about themselves. If you see someone struggling with their part, lend a helping hand. The pie chart is not always even, but why should it be? We all aren’t built of the same design. Therefore, we all provide different talents to bring to the table.

Speaking of talent, what ideal group or team would you form? It depends on the project. You want people who challenge you to grow and learn. So, that means you want people with skills, talent, and experience. People will surprise you when given tasks to do. Let them think on their own two feet to figure out what it is they need to do to be a success for you.

Brainstorming is another form of team input. It’s fun too! The brains that come together to create ideas for projects, design, structures, timelines, and much more can be really impressive! In sports, one player may make all the news, but it’s the whole team that creates the plays, moves and shots to win! It’s hard to be a team when it’s one player. Even one individual owner of a business needs outside sources, so there you have your players again. We need each other, and bringing our best efforts ensures that we all succeed!
