How do you know when it’s time to call in the tree experts?

When There’s Storm Damage

After a big storm, hopefully no trees fell on your home. You want to be sure the mess is cleaned up. Do you think getting the chainsaw out is a job you are equipped to handle? Think about your trees: Do you know the best way to prune and trim them following significant damage?

If storm damage pruning isn’t handled by a pro, your tree’s health could be put at risk. Tree damage that hasn’t been corrected by pruning and treatment can lead to decay and future weakness. Your tree is worth investing in with all the time the tree shaded your yard and provided value to your landscape — don’t put your tree at risk. Call or TEXT us instead.

When Branches Look Like They Could Break and Fall

Maybe the tree doesn’t look that bad, but you’re still feeling nervous about the leaning branches that seem to lower daily. If a branch is thicker than 2 inches, it can cause serious damage if it falls. Look at the trees on your property, especially the trees close to your home, or any structure or vehicle on your property. If you think there could be future damage, get peace of mind by calling an arborist.

When The Roots Are Exposed

Tree problems can start in the root system. Suddenly exposed or broken tree roots, or mounding near the trunk are signs of trouble. You must stop any significant damage of the tree’s roots early, as this can jeopardize the tree’s health and the safety of nearby people and structures. Schedule a no-cost consultation with an arborist as soon as you can.

If You Lose Trees and Want to Plant New Trees

Planning tree placement is important for healthy trees. It’s not good to pick trees that you like and plant them as you wish. Consider the type of soil on your property, the amount of sun your tree will get and the how far away the surrounding trees and structures are.

It can be overwhelming with all the tree types and decisions to make, so it’s best to get professional recommendations from an expert that has your property value in mind.

We are a local arborist team that fully understands the challenges of Ohio’s climate. We are here to help you correct tree problems and manage new plantings to deliver the highest value and the most enjoyment for the property owner. Call or TEXT us today to set up a no-cost consultation!

Busy...Busy...Busy!

It’s that time of year and we are so excited about the projects we’re handling and the ones that are ahead of us. Here a few pictures…just to give you an idea of what we’ve been up to so far this spring.

We took care of some things at The Dawes Arboretum, cleared out and cleaned up some storm damage and even found a little time to shoot a great picture of the kids, which brings me to the whole reason I do this every day…family.

Taking care of your tree needs, taking care of the business and taking care of family, that’s McCullough’s Tree Service!
