Winter is one of the best times to prune trees! How do you tell if a branch is dead or alive from the ground? It’s much easier to decipher what areas of deciduous trees need tending to by a tree climber. They are properly trained to climb and see the best option for each tree. They can evaluate the limbs by seeing if tree buds are or are not present.

There are many proper ways to cut a tree, and arborists are trained to know how to safely climb, cut and create a balance all around so the tree stays healthy, and is esthetically pleasing for the landscape. When you aren’t sure how to shape the tree, mistakes can be made that actually cause harm to the tree and shape.

Trees that are too close to a structure can cause damage by growing into it or hang too far over. Sometimes it’s necessary to trim away limbs to clear space or remove the tree safely from the area.

If you have trees in need of pruning or if you're not sure if your trees need pruned, request an estimate and a McCullough’s Tree Expert will contact you!
