Earth Day and Arbor Day hold a lot of the same values when you really think about it. Earth Day 2017 is April 22 and Arbor Day is April 28th. Both days are about preserving the planet Earth…the only one we have! There’s no plan B! Earth Day boasts ways to be more frugal and responsible with our existing products and opportunities while Arbor Day reminds us to plant a tree. Did you know trees play a pretty substantial part in the oxygen production for the world? Trees are a relatively equal exchange between carbon consumption and oxygen output, however, when trees are destroyed and left to decompose, then the trees consumes oxygen for the decomposition process, reason enough to take care not to purposely destroy trees and leave them to decay! The ocean is actually a larger contributor of oxygen and therefore, we need to work hard to preserve the Phytoplankton in our oceans.
Celebrate Earth day by finding ways to preserve, reuse and recycle and celebrate Arbor Day by planting a tree and reading up on ways trees are important to us.
